Over 900,000 Courses Completed in former Soviet Union |

During the momentous days following the breakup of the Soviet Union, the opportunity to serve prisons in Moscow became a reality that we could hardly have imagined only a few years earlier. The current ministry in Russia includes chaplaincy work, a complete Bible correspondence program to prisoners and gospel literature distribution. Today there are literally thousands of prisoners in hundreds of prisons throughout the former Soviet Union who have Bible study courses and New Testaments in their hands because of the faithful work of Set Free staff and volunteers. From these early beginnings the Lord has continued to bless our Russian ministry and over 1.25 million Bible correspondence courses have been distributed with 900,000 courses completed by inmates and returned for correction by our personnel. Today there are 25 Spiritual Freedom staff serving in both Moscow and St. Petersburg. |
