Each week, Set Free Prison Ministries receives letters from men and women in prison who are faithfully completing the Bible correspondence courses that we provide them.
Here are some recent letters that have been translated from Russian to English...
"My name is Anastasia*.  I’m 17 years old.  Now I’m in prison.  When I was free I walked in the dark.  I knew God exists but I didn’t know that He loves me and is waiting for me.

When I got into prison, for the first time in my life I heard about God and His love.  This happened on September 2, 2002.  I was very interested in this.  Afterwards, I asked Spiritual Freedom to bring me a Bible.

First I read the Gospel of John from chapter one to chapter four.  In John 3:16 I got to know about God’s love.  He gave His Son for my sins.  I began to think about it and later, on September 10th, I received Christ as King and Savior.  And now I am walking in faith and I would like to know Him very closely.  I started to do this with the courses, reading the Bible and telling other people about His love and how He waits for them.

"I was impatiently waiting for the new Bible studies and this time I have followed your advice and have read all the literature which you sent to me. Some books even several times. Especially I liked John Stott’s Basic Christianity. It made me understand and realize deeper and comprehensively many Christian things, the notion of sin and divine personality and the character of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I also want to say that I thank my Lord and the Savior for I regained my sight and wrote to Spiritual Freedom. I wish so much that there will be more ministries like this on our planet and so the people would write to you and be converted, bringing repentance from the heart, leaving behind their sin and former sinful life.

My life literally changed completely after I completed the first courses, Knowing Jesus Christ and Born to Win. The materials of the second course started to strengthen my faith more and more and I began to read the Word of God and understand it.
I thank God for everything you do for me and for others, still unsaved sinners. May our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!"

Sincerely yours,
Dima

"Peace to you and Christ's Grace!
You know, I just want to thank you personally and all Spiritual Freedom workers for that painstaking labor, for that attention, which you pay to every person. I thank you for your work that you do in the name of the One who handed over Himself to death for the sins of mankind.

While learning the Bible studies you offer, I feel that I perceive the Word of God and His requirements deeper and deeper. Along with that my self-conceit disappeared about me not needing anybody and (thinking that) my life is a mere trifle with no purpose. But quite the contrary, I began to understand that there is the One who made everything for me, the One who needs me and wants me to live with Him forever there, in heaven. That is why I will entirely try and I am already trying to dedicate myself to Him.

But that would probably not happen if once upon a time I would not have gotten the address of your mission. And I would not have studied your courses. This is why the words of appreciation involuntarily break away from me to your address. And I am thanking the Lord for His wonderful provision and in my prayers I constantly ask Him for His blessings upon you.

Peace to you, good people, Christ's coworkers."

"My name is Sasha and I am 14 years old.  I learned about you from a friend of mine.  After I read one of your courses I started to think about God and now I believe.  Please send me more of your courses."  (Russia)
"Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'" Matthew 25:37-38
